The album not only clinched the top spot on the weekly world chart and the album chart, but it also achieved this remarkable feat just three days following its release on March 20. An article previewed by Billboard, a leading American music publication, on March 30 revealed that 'Arirang' has ascended to the apex of the esteemed 'Billboard 200' chart dated April 4. Entering the chart with a staggering 641,000 album units, the album marked the most impressive weekly performance for a group album since the inception of unit tracking in December 2014. Of these units, a substantial 532,000 were attributed to pure album sales, combining both physical copies and digital purchases. This achievement signifies a new benchmark in weekly sales for a group album, a record-setting accomplishment not seen in over a decade.
In addition to their Billboard triumph, BTS has also claimed dominance across global music charts. The group swept through the weekly charts of Spotify, a leading global audio and music streaming platform, between March 20 and 26. They reigned supreme on the 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' global charts. The standout track 'SWIM' notably secured the number one position on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global', with all 14 tracks from 'Arirang' making their way into the top 30.
The track 'SWIM' not only captured the leading spot on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' but also on Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for an impressive duration of 9 days (March 20-28) and 7 days (March 23-29), respectively. The remarkable presence of all album tracks on the latest chart rankings of both platforms underscores the album's widespread and enduring popularity. Even ten days post-release, each track continues to enjoy significant success and acclaim, reflecting the adoration of fans worldwide.
Looking ahead, BTS is set to captivate audiences with their 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'', scheduled to take place at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. The tour will extend to stadiums across South America in October, with performances slated in countries such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Demonstrating their extraordinary drawing power, all 46 performances, spanning locations in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have sold out well in advance, showcasing the group's remarkable ability to attract concertgoers globally.
